Proceedings before Commission (section 95 of the Electricity Act 2003)

All proceedings before the Commission shall be deemed to be judicial proceedings within the meaning of sections 193 and 228 of the Indian Penal Code and the Commission shall be deemed to be a civil court for the purposes of sections 345 and 346 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973.

The Commission has framed a comprehensive Conduct & Business Regulation, 2004(205 Kb), that prescribes the conduct of business rules in all the matters that are brought before the Commission including suo-motu proceedings and review of Commission’s orders / directives.
