The Electricity Ombudsman derives its functions and powers from the

The powers and duties of its officers and employees
An Electrical Engineer and other staff assist the Electricity Ombudsman in discharging its function and duties.
The procedure followed in the decision-making process including channels of supervision and accountability

The rules, regulations, instructions, manuals and records, held by it or under its control or used by its employees for discharging its function.
The office of Electricity Ombudsman receives the appeals from the aggrieved parties and thereafter Electricity Ombudsman fixes the hearings for the appeals and pronounces the awards on the basis of the merits of the case. The

After receiving the appeals the Electricity Ombudsman gives hearing to the parties concerned and there after passes the award.
