Former Chairman

Sh. D.S. Dhesi, retired on 30.06.2019 after serving as Chief Secretary, Haryana for four and a half years. He joined the Haryana Cadre of IAS in 1982 after completing his Post Graduate degree in Economics from Panjab University, Chandigarh. During his 37 years of service, he served as the Administrative Secretary of many departments including Personnel, Vigilance, Environment, Forests, Cooperation, Sports and Youth Welfare and Town and Country Planning. He also worked in the Chief Minister’s Secretariat from 1996 to 2003. He had a stint of four and a half years in the Department of Commerce, Government of India, where he worked as Joint Secretary and Additional Secretary dealing with trade issues of Africa and West Asia. He has travelled extensively to different African Countries. He has good knowledge of the working of Power Sector. He presided over Ten meetings of the UDAY Monitoring Committee between 2016 and 2019. As Chairman HERC, his focus is on improving transparency, efficiency and redressal of consumer grievances.
